Martin Luther King Jr. is known as one of the most important civil rights activist. His work is important to the United States today. Because of Martin Luther King's work it is now illegal to discriminate or segregate in the United States of America. Martin Luther King Jr. based his work on God. His motivation was based on God's forgiveness in the Bible and loving one's enemies. He also faced many obstacles along the way. He was arrested over twenty times while protesting. His house was even bombed. Another time while he was autographing a new book, he was stabbed by a African American women. He also fought against the Vietnam War. He did not like that the United States was sending young black men to liberate freedoms halfway across the world in which they did not receive in their home country. In conclusion his work is important to all of United States citizens.
